Case Study: The Mis-Manager
Our Managing Director, Paul Koopman, was recently appointed as Manager of a
mixed-use building in London by the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal. He was appointed under s24(2)(b) of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1987 on the grounds that the property had not been competently managed by the Landlord.
The property comprises both flats and commercial premises. It was the opinion of a leaseholder of two of the flats that the premises had not been managed in accordance with statutory requirements and the leaseholder brought the matter to the LVT.
Mr Koopman will now manage the property and his duties will include rent and service charge collection and reconciliation, instigating any works that are required, managing the property generally and appointing any necessary contractors.
