Case Study: The Phantom Fraction
The Service Charge Company was instructed by a small company owning a leasehold flat in Huntingdon, Cambs. The lease set out that our client would be apportioned 9.5% of service charge costs, yet we discovered that the landlord had based the apportionment for a number of years at 14.3 % of total costs.
It was not possible to agree matters with the landlord so we set out our case on the matter for the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal, who ruled in favour of our client.
