Paul Koopman BSc(Hons) MRICS
Managing Director, The Service Charge Company
Paul qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1991 and has been Managing Director of Koopmans since 1993. Paul enjoys working with all types of people who have an interest in property, from stockbrokers to scrap merchants! Paul’s work mainly entails advising occupiers including well known retailers, such as Sir Paul Smith, many different types of office occupiers as well as industrial and distribution companies.
Paul’s work in service charges really started in 1991 after acting on behalf of a number of tenants in a large building in Hammersmith. The clients, including GE International, Office Angels and Fluor Daniel, won a landmark case in the High Court and as a result saved a lot of money. Since that case, Paul set up The Service Charge Company and work has continued to flow to Paul and his team from occupiers and owners of property who require independent specialist advice.
Paul has recently been appointed as a Manager and Receiver of a property by the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal. Residential advice has become a more important element of the Company’s workload and Paul believes that this trend will continue.
Paul believes that The Service Charge Company offers very good advice at a reasonable cost and that anybody who has any concern whatsoever over their property service charges should definitely make contact.
